🛡️ Defender isn’t just for Windows anymore
Happy Friday! Microsoft Defender, the anti-malware and virus scanner on Windows, is now available on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android. It might not be too helpful compared to the security features already on those platforms, but Microsoft is billing it as an all-encompassing security suite, and it’s free to Microsoft 365 subscribers.
Apple has also opened pre-orders for the new MacBook Pro, the first Mac with the company’s M2 chipset. The performance and battery life look impressive on paper, but we were hoping for more ports.

It feels like there are never quite enough outlets, but extension cables can be cumbersome to use if you’re just looking for more plugs. If you just need a splitter that gives you more room to plug in everything you need, Cable Matters’ 4 Outlet Power Splitter will do everything you need.
This splitter will turn one plug into four, and it’s also done on a relatively short cable, making it great to cut down on general power. Just make sure the electronics you plug into the splitter don’t need a lot of watts to be powered, as anything plugs into the splitter will need to share the power of the one outlet!

Some who say this are pretty humble, though they probably know quite a bit about PowerShell. Others tend to think knowing about PowerShell qualifies as knowing how to use it.
