Focused New Tabs Quick-Fix for Google Chrome

Are you frustrated with Chrome always opening “right click selected” new tabs in the background instead of focused? If so, then you will definitely want to have a look at the Tabs To The Front! extension.

The standard behavior in Chrome has any new tab that you open from from the “Right Click Menu” always appear in the background. Once in a while might not be much of a problem but if you open lots of tabs this way every day it can get very tiring using your mouse to bring all those tabs to the front.

With the Tabs To The Front! extension that extra mouse click is eliminated and our new tab is focused and ready to go. Think of all the hassle that could be eliminated from a day’s worth of browsing!

If you are tired of having to use your mouse to focus new tabs all day long, then this little extension is going to make browsing a much more pleasant experience for you.

I’m looking for the opposite effect, where links that open in new tabs do so in the background. Is there a way to cause that? (Not right-click open. Just links that you left-click and pop open in new tabs.)

This is a great extension that does what it is designed to do. Why this is not a built-in option in Chrome like it is in other browsers is beyond me.

If you middle click (most mice, you can click down with the scrollwheel), it will do what you are wanting.

This helps a little. Why this function is not on the package before?

Tabs to the Front should take it one more step and default so when you close the newly-opened tab, you are taken back to the page of origin – not to the next right-most tab.

An extension to get what Chrome should make natively! Wonderful.

Fantastic, agreed this should be the default behavior. Finally I don’t have to hold down the shift key anymore!

This is the OPPOSITE of what I want.

Normal behaviour for Chrome to open a new tab WITHOUT using that tiring right-click menu is:
CTRL-LEFTCLICK opens the new tab and FOCUSES on it immediately WHILE IT IS LOADING.

Why should I be forced to go BACK to what I was reading every single time? This makes my hand so tired and irritates my carpal tunnel syndrome.

Give us a way to open new tabs in the BACKGROUND. I get so sick of it “focusing” when I don’t want it to that I go elsewhere. It’s tooooo tiring to keep going back and trying to find my place again OR to use that right-click menu for every link. Yes, I do a lot of links every day. Save my hands!
