Didn’t Google drop support for Notebook? Seems like it would be a good idea to encourage people to move away from Notebook, in case it goes away.

  2. -Pablo-

Yeah, Google Notebook is mostly dead… you can’t even sign up for it now if you didn’t use it before.
Even though it was a great tool, they decided to discontinue it a while ago.
I’ve been using Evernote ever since… and it mostly replaces Google Notebook, but it’s a bit of a resource hog. Especially on netbooks and the like. :(

@Pablo – Actually the Notebook account pictured here is tied into a new Google account I created just before the end of the year. Once I got into my new e-mail account Notebook was easy to access.

@Ken – This extension isn’t written by Google, as far as I know – which means the author of the extension is probably one of those people who still use and love it.

@Pablo – Google Notebook is only “mostly dead” to those that either never had an account, and therefore cannot create one, or those that never realized just how great Google Notebook is. I have used it and loved it for a long time now, and Google said they will continue to run that service even though they do not offer it or support it any longer.

@Asian – And how did you manage to get a new Notebook account? I would love to know if you found a workaround.

  5. Jason Bunting

@Asian – Never mind, I was able to do it quite easily. I am surprised they have not locked it down a bit better, since they made a bit of a fuss about not supporting it or previously allowing for new accounts.

“add 2 google notebook” was created by a Japanese. It is a really great work , much quicker than evernote on a slow net. wonder it get not so many users, maybe the developer should polish the english description.
