Friday Fun: King of Bridges

By Akemi Iwaya on August 13th, 2010

Your weekend is almost here but until quitting time arrives we have another fun game for you to play at work. This time we have a bridge building puzzle game that will get you thinking.

King of Bridges

The graphics have a slightly older style to them but this fun game will definitely make you think.

There are thirty levels that you can work through.

Starting with the first level you will see short messages that help to explain how the game works. At this point you will be able to turn off the music if desired using the menu button in the lower right corner (the music can get to you after a bit).

On each island you will see a population number. That is the total number of bridges that can be connected to it in order to complete the pattern.

As you can see here each time an island has the proper number of bridges attached it is highlighted with a yellow border. Once you reach higher levels the yellow border can not be used as an indicator of the correct pattern…only the correct number of bridges.

Once the patterns become more complicated the game will provide hints to help you create the correct bridge patterns.

You can see here that not all of the bridge possibilities will be used…sometimes it just takes a little bit of experimentation to find the correct pattern.

Here are some examples on how the bridge layouts will look. As expected each one gets a little more complicated than the one before it.

Once you reach the red water level you are definitely going to have to think out your bridge patterns! If you like a good puzzle challenge you should have a lot of fun with King of Bridges.
