you guys have any nice pics that you've taken, be it of scapes, animals, pets, etc..

this was this afternoon. i almost wanna say that it doesnt do it much justice but isnt too bad considering where i stood and the fact i couldnt get over the rooftops. thought the colors were beautiful and they inspired me to try and capture the moment.

I'd love to take a pic of the skyline but its always cloudy here leaving everyone in a surreal state of melancholy.

Certainly looks warmer there than it is here :)

He chewed one of his pads off, I think because he's had an ear infection lately. It's wrapped up more to keep him off it than anything else.. Stoopid dog.

funny you mentioned that 'bout the temperature yesterday, GS, it was pretty 'warm' (i use that term loosely) compared to the day before and even today from what im seeing. otherwise, been cold as HECK man!

@ PH those rotties look HUGE! i might have something for you, that might help for the ear infection, been wanting to tell SJ about it too. will check again to make sure i have your email and let you know there.

@LH, i was waiting for that one! thats a really is a nice one too. i remember when you posted that a while back!!

some nice ones guys, thanks for sharing!

One of Surrey's large population of ring-necked parakeets was forced to endure the snow in Esher. A few miles away from me. Picture by D Edwards. [ via BBC website ]

Indian ring-necked parakeet, not an African one.

Right ok, come over to Surrey and tell em, Parrot fashion, sure they will listen!

Edit; it is thought that they might be from a South America source.

Still a pain if you are under the flight path and earshot

I prefer the shorter stubbier African ring neck. Not so gaudy as well.

@ mike-Funny thing as soon as I saw those rotties I heard a little parrot
voice in my head saying "Arch, don't eat me! Arch..
Btw kudos on that pic I've been having no joy trying to
capture 1 of the NZ Rosella, damn bush is so thick all I'm getting
is a patch of red in a sea of green.

LOL @ jcx...on a serious note; my wife has suggested me to go with her on Sundays but I always find an excuse not to go.

Not sure how to convince myself to go :(

Sarah, those gators stay by themselves. They are only dangerous for dogs and little children. But when they intrude into housing areas, the wildlife guards take them away to more remote areas.

That's why you smuggle them when they are young and let them grow to size after you get them there.

Stop disguising your luggage, and shoes, as gator skin. And LF is correct. Little ones are very small.

My guess is a whale made the splash and the splash is catching light from the sun.

Rob Leslie 5pts2 days agoGetting a lot of questions as to how this was done. Totally encourage people around the world to try this out as it is a lot of fun. Was simply throwing rocks into the ocean using a 2 second shutter delay using a cheap little tripod in the dirt. 1...2...throw. Kind of looked like a bit of a lunatic getting this shot.

Dropped my DSLR in the water before doing this which is also on the video below along with some of the failed shots.
