I have a HP G72 laptop with windows 7 home. Followed the instructions to shrink and create a new partition. This was successful. Disk Management reports the new Windows 8 (H) partition as Layout-Simple, Type-Dynamic, File System-NTFS, Status-Healthy
Booted from the Windows 8 Pro install disk and it progressed through serial number. The install complained about the "Dynamic type" and refused to install.
Any Ideas?

Bad news. You have to do the following:

1. delete the last partition you just created - e.g. in Disk Management

2. Reconvert the remaining 4 partitions to basic primaries - here is how

3. Convert the C partition to a logical partition - for that you use the bootable CD of Partition Wizard (last entry on the webpage). Burn this .iso to CD and boot with the CD. Highlight the C partition and go to the Partition tab. The controls are under Modify

4. Now define an extended logical partition in the space from the deleted partition in step 1. You can do that with Partition Wizard or with Disk management.

5. Install Win8 to that new partition.
