Thanks for the link to Windows Live - Photo Gallery. The Movie Maker does not sound like it would be important to me. My second question involves "Photo Gallery" it the same as "My Photos" in that you load from camera into the computer, save and store the photos, and you can "attach" then to a e-mail and mail them ? Also, I assume that there would be no "issues" with continued usage of Thunderbird for my e-mail.

I am really trying to be comfortable with the upgrade before I install it.

Photo Gallery is just a display vehicle for everything that is in the Pictures library. The photos from the camera are stored wherever you tell it - usually in My Pictures. It is from there you you pick your attachments. Regarding Thunderbird I have no idea - never used it. I use AOL (and sometimes Hotmail) and that is completely insensitive to the operating system environment. It always works, regardless from where I log on.
