I read a lot of your previous posts but cannot find my specific problem and ways to try and solve it.

HP Desktop w/Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit

I can create a New Folder, but when trying to rename it, I do not get an error message, but it will not rename. . .it simply goes back to New Folder. This happens on my desktop or in folders or even in “Favorites” folder on Internet Explorer 8. Any thoughts or suggestions?

One more addition, I cannot move folders on my desktop, I can only copy them to a new location.

rf4s7s hi. You should not even try to rename "special" folders, like Favorites. For others, try this,

@ lighthouse: Thank you, I did not try to rename “Favorites” but a “new Folder” in Favorites.

@ whs: Looked at this and the box was already checked - thank you.

I am running the malware you suggested. So far, it hasn't found anything. However, I do have Microsoft Security Essentials that runs almost every morning. Do I also need this "Malwarebytes" ?

Yep, and maybe others. They don't all look for the same things.

@lighthouse: I finished the deep scan and it found no problems. Anything else I can try? Thanks...
