Lighthouse, you have made some posts recently that make no since to me.
Can you explain the following:
Lets hail our benifactor Scott post 3 - It sounds like you are insulting someone but I know you wouldn't do that so I think I must be missing something.
I Love this new forum - No idea.
To disable new partition post "Uummmmm...." - No idea.

On the first 2, I think everyone else understood. So I am not going to explain.
On the 3rd. I think it most impolite that you link someone to your site, for a writeup you could have posted on HTG. Fair enough with reg hacks, but not a writeup.

Ok, that works. I mainly wanted to know about the 3rd one anyway without making the other topic go off topic.
How is that impolite? Many people post links to articles on other sites. Just because it's my site doesn't change anything. The article should still answer the question assuming a dual boot setup. Now that I read it again, it appears that wasn't entirely clear from the original poster though.
Also no I couldn't really post it on HTG. The forums don't support the proper markup for an article and the main site isn't set up to accept articles from other users.

To be fair to jd, he did ask me before posting any links to his site, and I told him that it was fine. I figure that he's been a big help around here, and if he can help somebody by posting a relevant link to his site, then the real goal is reached, as the user has been helped.

I'm working on getting the system setup so that jd and others can help post user-submitted content... then we can post links to HTG.

@Lighthouse: No need for shame, you keep this place from being boring!

@jd: Lighthouse prides himself on being strange, which is why his posts are sometimes cryptic. Also I think sometimes he writes in another language indecipherable to humans. =)

At least you don't pride yourself on taking pride in yourself.

I'm new here, so I'm glad it's not just me. About a third of what Lighthouse posts goes over my head. Not over, really, more to the side. I just figured he was off his meds when he made those posts. As Monsieur Le Geek says, he writes in a way we don't understand. I would add that the voices in his head understand it perfectly. He also sometimes writes in French (I think) without translating which I see as another way for him to be cryptic.

But, I kid about Lighthouse. We banter back and forth. N'est-ce pas, Peter?

I sugget we have a "French day" once a month. All posts must be in French. If that works, we can proceed to a "German day" and so on. Then we become really international.

The emphasis on 'few' (here). Let's all learn Esperanto and address the UN.

Don't Esperanto & Dvorak go together?

Dvorak is a left winger for the Florida Panthers. To the best of my knowledge he's never addressed the UN.

I don't really think that Esperanto went anyplace. I had looked into it in the 50's, then it was the hip thing. But since then it really went downhill.

Wasn't that in Oakland? I had heard about that at the time. In the US they like to try anything. Why not?

jack, I liked your other avatar better. This one is hard to tell what it is. Plus, it confuses me. When I was looking for you, I looked for "red".

whs, install the ImageZoom extension for Firefox. I know you'll resist but it has some great features, including ImageFit (fills the screen with the hard to see image).

What would I do with a Firefox extension when I don't use Firefox? CTL and rolling the wheely works a lot easier.

Lighthouse, sure it does. It enlarges everything that's on the page.
jack, I am very happy with IE. Firefox is not working well on my system. Maybe because I never took the time to properly set it up. True, sometimes IE plays a prank, but so what.

You are probably not on IE. That's what you get when you use those alien browsers.

IE6, FF2 and below only change text size.
Opera 9, Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3 can zoom everything including images.

Note: I'm not sure which Opera version introduced it but I know from searches it was before the other two with a zoom feature.

Edit: Just checked and it appears to be Opera version 9 that introduced the zoom feature.
Opera 9 came out around Augest, 2006
Internet Explorer 7 came out October 18th, 2006
So it seems like Opera has zoom first but the beta periods were close to so I don't know which was first.
