My friend bought an ASUS EEEPC 1008HA netbook (running windows 7) which worked just fine until she powered it on the other day and all that happend was a message in top left corner saying "boot manager" is missing. None of the keys now work, and plugging in my external disc drive does nothing (it would normally be recognised) The netbook appears to be totaly irresponsive and I would be very gratefull for any advise on what I can do to fix it.
Kind Regards

Hmm, there are several possibilities:

1. If there is the 100MB active partition, that could be inactivated
2. The 100MB partition could be corrupted
3. There is no 100MB active partition but the bootmgr is on C: and corrupted there.

Fixing that on a netbook is not easy because you have no optical reader. We'll have to try with the Recovery Partition or the USB stick.

1. You can use this procedure: ( ). You have to click thru several pages to get all the instructions.
2. If this does not work, post back and we will try to use the Bootable USB of this program: ( ) to see what's cooking.
