Here is the issue. I have a new laptop HP dv8t running windows 7 64 bit connected wirelessly and an older custom built rig with an Nvidia Nforce4 mobo AMD 64 bit CPU with built in LAN running windows xp sp2. Both of these are connected to a Linksys wrt400n router. Both of them can get on the internet fine and it is really fast. Both of them are part of the same work group name and when I go to work group connections, I can see the individual PC but not the other.

Here is what I’ve done so far to try and have had no luck:
-turning off the firewalls of both computers.
-installed LLTP or whatever it is so that windows xp can talk to 7.
-Shared every single folder possible on both computers.
-disabled and enabled the easy file share feature of XP and 7.
-Gone through almost every tutorial on the internet about how to network windows XP and 7 and am thoroughly disgusted.

I really need your guys help. is it the 128 bit encription on my laptop? What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?
