WorldCat Identities Visualizes Literary Connections

By Jason Fitzpatrick on August 15th, 2011

WorldCat has released an interactive tool that pulls from their massive library catalog; easily search and trace connections between authors, fictional characters, places, things, and companies.

Seed an interactive map with an author, place, entity, or fictional character and WorldCat Identities will create a web of connections from that seed to related authors, locations, and more, all pulled from the massive WorldCat database. It’s an interesting way to interact with the library catalog and discover new connections between your favorite authors and the greater world.

Hit up the link below to play with it, check out the current top 100 searches, and explore.
