Roll Your Own Customizable and Remote Controllable Accent Lighting

By Jason Fitzpatrick on August 4th, 2011

If you’re looking for the perfect way to accent light your office, living room, or geek cave, this clever and modular LED lighting system can help.

Based off the BlinkM MaxM driver, an IR receiver, and a roll of LED tape, the design is easy to adapt to various shapes (the tape is very flexible and backed by adhesive). You can also swap the colors with a standard TV remote, adjust the brightness, and toggle the system on and off. It’s a really clever build and the best part is that you won’t have to bust out a soldering iron as the whole thing is modular and snaps right together.
