Gmail for Android Updates; Now Supports Priority Inbox Only Syncing

Late last year Gmail for Android adopted Priority Inbox support. The most recent update allows you to sync only your priority inbox for faster and more efficient syncing as well as other battery/bandwidth saving tricks.

In addition to just syncing your Priority Inbox the new update also includes a sender-by-sender “show pictures” toggles, label specific ringtone alerts, and more. Hit up the link below to update your copy and check out the latest features.

Now if only 1. emails would stop disappearing randomly from the droid inbox (sometimes findable again through search), 2. read receipts – sometimes you badly need to know that someone had opened your email.

I’m finding that my version ( won’t let me *not* synchronise the priority inbox. I’ve disabled it via the web interface & it’s recently appeared in the mobile version. It doesn’t really matter, other than the fact it’s showing the priority tags, (which I’ve disabled, as I say) in the web interface.

I’d rather decide myself if it’s important .. and, what I want to read, say, during the day when I’m at work, could be different to what I want to read when I have time. etc
