Quadrotor Blooper Reel Lulls Us into False Security [Video]

By Jason Fitzpatrick on July 5th, 2011

Remember the video of Quadrotor autonomous flying machines that played out like a sci-fi nightmare? It turns out they’re not quite so terrifying yet; check out this bloopers reel to sleep soundly (for now).

Back in May we shared a video of the Quadrotors from the University of Pennsylvania’s GRASP lab. The video showed the Quadrotors executing moves in perfect formation and at break neck speeds. It turns out that when they’re good they’re good and when they’re off, well, things get disastrous. Check out the above video to see the “bloopers” reel from the Quadrotor testing and training sessions. We still haven’t decided if it’s a ruse to lull us into a false sense of security before the Quadrotor overlords come.
