Hack a Crock Pot into a Sous Vide Cooker

By Jason Fitzpatrick on May 20th, 2011

Sous vide cookers are an awesome way to precisely cook food but they cost a fortune. This DIY solution gives you sous vide flavor without a hit to your wallet.

Sous vide, for the unfamiliar, is a process of cooking food in water at precisely controlled temperatures. In the above video Jeff Porter, author of the book Cooking for Geeks, shows how you can hack a cheap crock pot into a sous vide cooker.
