Hide Your Valuables and Small Gear in a Junction Box Stash Spot

If you’re looking for a superbly camouflaged spot to stash valuables, flash drives, or other small objects, this clever DIY fake junction box as stash spot setup is ideal.

Nearly everyone has an aversion to electricity so what better place to stash your loot than in an old (and non-functioning) junction box? In the video above Derek from Tiny Yellow House shows us how to create a fake junction box that looks so realistic only the most dedicated of meth heads will plumb its electricity arcing depths to find your buried treasure.

It works if you don’t touch the box afterwards. Even an ignorant person knows boxes
are always dusty. And I’ve never seen a Master Electrician become a thief. But I’ve seen
a few failed comedians turn up worse.

This is truly genious, and bookmarking this site was also a genious decision.
I love these tips, HTG rocks.

And of course that was meant to be ‘genius’ without the superfluous O, my apologies. ~.~

What about the meth heads who are stealing electrical wiring to sell the copper?

  5. Larry

That is some ancient wiring in the photo; did you folks break into my house to take that picture?

Aren’t they stealing copper from construction/destruction sites and not from homes? That is not something they do quickly; or quietly. This is a great idea for a hiding place; all I need now is money and jewels…….

@Lucky – Now you know where to look for the money and jewels! Everyone’s a winner!
