Slow Down App Keeps You Safe by Altering Your Tunes When You Speed

Slow Down is a terribly clever iOS application that links your driving speed to your music playback speed. The faster you drive the slower the music becomes, giving you an audio reminder to slow down.

The application uses your phone’s GPS to check the speed limit in your location. Exceed the speed limit a little bit and your music slows down time-warp style. Exceed it a lot and the music stops altogether. It’s a clever and subtle way to encourage people to drive the speed limit as it provides immediate feedback and a motive (hearing your music at the correct playback speed) to slow down.

Check out the video above to see it in action or hit up the link below to read about it in the iTunes App Store.

I need a totally opposite app, for racing :)
Oh, there’s an app for that !

  2. Omar Hafiz

That’s right, we need the exact opposite, something that makes you “Feel the rush, Feel the adrenaline”.

Assuming if you drive at the speed limit music will play at its normal speed, will the music go faster when slowing down?

See the video to understand ;)

This would be ok if you only have a few demerit points left before you lose your license…. But otherwise it would just utterly annoy the heck out of me.

  6. david

Pretty cool! can you adjust it though?

What a stupid app! Who wants to be driving along and their music goes slooooow?

Tuh! I can’t even think of one good reason or use for it.

Whoever invented it… get a proper job!!

Oh that’s great isn’t it? Something to take your mind off the road. But it’s ok, your music is playing at the correct tempo.

Yes it would annoy me too but that’s the idea you turnip! For those of you out there that are either incapable of either reading the speed limit signs or just find yourself useless enough as to not understand that breaking the limit dangers other people then this app is for you!

I say skip the onboard sat-nav, go sway with air-con and fit this to all sub £400 second hand Nova’s :) Failing this the powers that be could always just limit all the ‘boy racers’ to their own individual council estates utilising the very same technology that prevents shopping trollies being nicked from cost cutter car parks – then just maybe the only people to be hurt by these idiots will be those of the same gene pool.
