If you’re a fan of Super Smash Bros. Melee and thought the gameplay was too unbalanced and radically changed the Wii release Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Project M is a free and ambitious mod that brings classic gameplay to the Wii.

The players behind Project M lamented the changes made between Melee and Brawl and decided to do something about it. Project M is not a Melee clone but it does heavily modify Brawl to include new maps, a better balance between offensive and defensive characters, improved recovery techniques, more challenging and dynamic combos, and a focus on technical skill instead of camping and over dependence on special moves and camping.
