    1. This isn’t Sagan’s ‘Pale Blue Dot’ speech proper. The text of that speech refers to a famous image of earth taken from the far reaches of our solar system by one of the Voyager probes.

    2. Does anyone get the irony of this video? Sagan was talking about how enlightened we will be by the time we mature to the point where we can travel to the stars. Meanwhile the images are of mankind doing what it seems to do best… waging war, blowing things up, etc. It portrays us not as evolved beings but as high-tech brutes.

    Yes, it was well done…

“waging war, blowing things up, etc” … You do not know the story of Halo well at all then. Humanity was discovered by a collection of races that, due to religious backstory that I won’t bother explaining, decided they would exterminate us. This is defense.

But I do agree that it doesn’t exactly show us as evolving, just surviving a war. There are some shots that would have worked well for that, but not many from Reach.

I think it was very well done. I like how well timed it was, and how much the music meant to it.
