IntoNow is clever social networking application for iOS that makes it super simple to share what TV show you’re watching with your friends as it identifies any TV (right down to the episode number) just by hearing 4-12 seconds of the show.

It’s as neat as it sounds. Download the app to your iOS device, start it, begin listening, and direct the microphone at the television. In our tests it correctly identified every episode we threw at it: Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Simpsons, Dexter, Happy Town, Harper’s Island, and more. The only stumbling block we hit was it failed it identify the last episode of a show that had only aired online; IntoNow builds its database by scanning broadcast shows and web-only airings fly off its radar. That small caveat aside the app is amazingly talented at identifying shows.

The whole point of the so cool it’s almost magic identification powers of the IntoNow app is to make it easy to share what you’re watching with your friends. Once you’ve identified the show you can share it with your friends, see and comment on what they are watching, and even one-click access IMDb, Netflix, and iTunes to learn more about the show or queue/purchase it.
