The Space Invaders Vista Desktop

By Lowell Heddings on September 11th, 2010

Who says Vista doesn’t look as good as Windows 7?

Well, just about everybody does. But here’s an interesting desktop that with a great wallpaper, system stats, and all sorts of other stuff arranged into a bar at the bottom, not unlike Ubuntu, except better.

Here’s the details:

  • default aero theme
  • virtuawin for virtual desktops
  • samurize taskbar config for workspace switching, gmail counter, download counter
  • truelaunchbar for quicklaunch _menus_ , desktop menu and also the bar on the bottom for system meters
  • fences for desktop icons (hidden)
  • winamp with slightly color modded skin
  • wall: using the great Spacender icons of manuee, inspired by his icon preview.
