Set up Google Voice (GV) on my ATT Android yesterday.

Suggests the need for a better way to say “I love it!”

It’s not terribly difficult to do, but it does take a little getting your head wrapped around how all the pieces of your GoogleWorld fit together. And it does involve getting a Google phone number – which can either be used instead of your current mobile number or side-by-side.

I went looking for a way to have unlimited free texts, and I found that. Got a whole lot more in the bargain though! One of the coolest things is the GV voicemail system. You can have incoming voicemails sent to your email inbox – as transcriptions of the voicemail! That’s right – you can READ your voicemails! Or just hit the Play button to hear them. Imagine never having to dial into voicemail again…

So, Google is well on its way to taking over the world. And I guess I’m an accomplice. But you know what? As long as they keep making things that work beautifully (and are free), why not? In fact, my prediction – and you heard it here first, folks – is that Google and Apple will combine in the not-too-distant future. And that will be the end of MSFT.
