Like with all other apps, to get the best experience possible out of the Instagram app, you will have to keep the app updated on your iPhone or Android phone. If you are not sure how to do that, we’ll show you how.
When you update the app, it receives bug fixes as well as new features. This improves your overall experience with the app. Also, updating Instagram is both free and easy. If you’re using Instagram on the web, you’re always up-to-date.
How do update the Instagram app? Just like updating other apps on your iPhone, you will update Instagram by using the Apple App Store.
Start by launching the App Store app on your iPhone. In the Store app, at the bottom, tap “Updates.”
On the “Updates” screen, you will see apps that need to be updated. Here, find Instagram and tap “Update” next to it.
If you do not find Instagram on this list, your version of the app is already up to date. In this case, you do not have to do anything.
If you tapped “Update,” wait while the App Store downloads and installs the update for you. And then, you will be rocking the most recent version of Instagram on your iPhone!
Don’t forget to update your iPhone itself as well, as it also helps enhance your phone experience.
On Android phones, you can update the app from the Play Store.
To do so, first, launch the Google Play Store on your phone. In the Store, tap the search box and type “Instagram” (without quotes).
From the search results, select Instagram.
On Instagram’s app page, tap the “Update” button to update the app.
If you do not see the “Update” button, you are already using the most recent version of Instagram on your phone.
And that’s how you keep getting new bug fixes and features in Instagram on your mobile phones.
While you’re at it, make sure your phone also runs the latest version of Android.
