Amazon is making massive improvements to Amazon Music Unlimited, including spatial audio on any headphones and lossless audio available on all accounts without any extra expense or effort.

With the latest Amazon Music update, you can get into the world of spatial audio with any pair of headphones on Android or iPhone. That means you won't need to worry about a specific pair of headphones to get that engaging spatial experience.

Amazon is offering two different spatial audio options: Dolby Atmos and Sony 360 Reality Audio.

Spatial audio isn't a new feature for Amazon Music, as the company offered it on Echo Studio and Sony's SRS-RA5000 headphones previously. What's new is the support for any headphones, which makes the feature available to so many other people. When a song has spatial audio support, you'll see an Atmos or 360 badge in the Amazon Music app.

Where Amazon's offering falls short compared to Apple is the loss of head tracking, which is a feature that takes the experience to the next level. Of course, to take advantage of head tracking with Apple, you'll need to own a pair of third-gen AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max headphones.

Additionally, Amazon is making it so all Amazon Music accounts have access to lossless audio without updating their account. Initially, you had to pay extra for lossless. Then, Amazon made it free, but you had to enable it on your account. Now, you can get access to high-quality music on your account without doing anything extra.

Amazon says it has over 75 million songs available in the CD-quality format and millions in Ultra HD.

This update helps give Amazon Music a slight edge over some of its competitors, and the $7.99 per month price tag for Prime members helps even more.
