How to Switch to Dark Mode in Snapchat for iPhone

Note: As of this writing in August 2021, Snapchat’s Android app has not received the dark mode option. Only the iPhone app officially supports dark mode.

To activate dark mode in Snapchat, first, open the Snapchat app on your iPhone. At the top-left corner of the app, tap the user icon.

On the user page, from the top-right corner, select the “Settings” option (a gear icon).

Select the "Settings" option in Snapchat.

On the “Settings” page, at the bottom of the “My Account” section, tap “App Appearance.”

Tap "App Appearance" on the "Settings" page in Snapchat.

You’re now on the “App Appearance” page. Here, select “Always Dark.” This ensures Snapchat always uses a dark theme, regardless of what your iOS settings are.

Select "Always Dark" on the "App Appearance" page in Snapchat.

Tip: To revert from dark mode to light mode, select the “Always Light” option.

And that’s all. With Snapchat offering a dark mode on iPhone, your favorite app should now blend well with the other apps where you’ve enabled dark mode on your phone.

On a related note, did you know your iPhone also has a built-in dark mode?
