Gamescom 2021 is right around the corner, and Microsoft is set to take the virtual stage on August 24, 2021, at 1 p.m. ET to wow gamers with lots of exciting goodies.
When to Watch Microsoft's Gamescom 2021 Stream
Microsoft has announced that it'll start streaming its Gamescom 2021 press conference to the world on August 24, 2021, at 1 p.m. ET (10 a.m. PT, 7 p.m CEST). Make sure you're sitting near a device with a screen and an internet connection, as you absolutely won't want to miss this one.
How to Watch Microsoft's Stream From Gamescom 2021
Since Gamescom is an entirely virtual event this year, you can participate in the festivities without hopping on a plane and traveling to Cologne, Germany. And to make sure you decide to tune in and see what it has, Microsoft is streaming this event on just about any platform you could imagine. You can watch on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Gaming, and Twitter.
Additionally, Microsoft will show the event on platforms popular in certain regions. For example, you can check out the future of Xbox on VK.com in Russia and Bilibili in China. In total, the company will support 30 languages. Microsoft wants to make sure everyone can watch, no matter where they live or what language they speak.
In the interest of accessibility, Microsoft also said that it will have English Audio Descriptions and American Sign Language support for the event.
What to Expect From Microsoft's Gamescom 2021 Stream
Parris Lilly and Kate Yeager will host the event, and they'll bring us the latest games from Microsoft. The company says we will hear updates from some games that various Xbox Game Studios have already announced. The team will also show off select games from third-party partners.
Microsoft says it'll show off some of the titles coming to Xbox this holiday, which is good because right now, there aren't a ton of games announced for what is usually the most significant time of the year for gaming.
Finally, Microsoft said it will show off some upcoming experiences for Game Pass, its monthly subscription service.
As far as the games, Microsoft has kept things pretty locked down so far. At this point, we can only speculate that Halo Infinite will have a presence during the event. Perhaps the company will announce an official release date for the upcoming Halo game.
Xbox executive Aaron Greenberg made sure to set expectations, saying there will be "no new reveals or major surprises," so the event is set to focus on learning more about previously-announced games.
Whatever the case may be, we'll be tuned in to see what's coming to Xbox soon, even if the event just shows more Halo and a few other Game Pass games. At least Microsoft is setting the expectations so we won't be disappointed.
