Friday Fun: Fragger

By Akemi Iwaya on April 22nd, 2011

The weekend is almost here, but until then how about a bit of fun to brighten up your day? In this week’s game you get to play with grenades and test your throwing skills as you battle enemy soldiers.

The object of the game is simple…you are a grenade throwing soldier on a mission to dispose of enemy troops as efficiently as possible.

When you click Play you can select from one of three difficulty levels to suit your mood.

Fragger comes with thirty levels of grenade throwing goodness.

The first three levels will each present a game play hint as shown below to help you become familiar with how things work.

The controls for the game are:

  • Mouse – Aim and shoot by moving the mouse and clicking. Set the power by dragging the mouse towards or away form the grenade’s origin.
  • Space Bar – Cancel a thrown grenade.
  • R – Retry the level.
  • M – Return to Level Select menu.
  • Q – Toggle rendering quality.

The first level is pretty much a practice run to help you get “a feel” for aiming and setting the power level when throwing grenades.

At the end of each level you will see the number of enemy soldiers terminated, a grenade bonus (less grenades used equals a bigger bonus), and your total score. You can return to the Main Menu or move on to the next level.

Level two adds an additional enemy soldier and a wall that you need to throw your grenade over (without throwing too hard).

You may end up using more grenades than you would like to at first until you get used to working around new barriers and obstacles on each level.

Starting with level three and beyond the setup for each level gets more difficult (and fun!) to work around. Have fun!

Thirty levels of Fragger not enough for you? Then head on over to play the sequel!
