Ubuntu 14.10 has just taken its next step toward a final release this week with the availability of the first round of betas. There are six regular UI flavors and an alternative Kubuntu desktop UI version available for download, so grab a stack of blank DVDS and get ready for a weekend of testing fun!

Note: The first beta of the regular Unity UI version of Ubuntu will not be available until September 25th (during the second 14.10 beta stage).

The versions available for download in this round of releases are: GNOME, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Kylin, and Ubuntu Cloud Image. If you are really up for some testing fun, then you may want to try the new Kubuntu Plasma 5 Desktop Edition (linked below the standard Kubuntu release below)!
