Have you been looking forward to the next Ubuntu LTS release? Then you will definitely be excited by this bit of news! The first alpha builds of Ubuntu 14.04 are now available for download in five different ‘flavors’ for your system testing enjoyment.

First things first, the regular Unity UI version of Ubuntu is not and will not be available as an alpha download, but will become available in the beta stage of development this upcoming spring.

If you feel that skipping the first round of alpha builds because they may be a bit unstable is a good idea, then it is just a matter of waiting for the next round of alpha releases to become available towards the end of next month.

The five versions available for download at this time are: GNOME, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Edubuntu, and Kylin. Hurry on over to grab a copy of your favorite version now!
