I worked in a hospital for a year. The worst was the calls from the ER department for a new keyboard because of ‘spills’. We didn’t ask specifically, we just brought a new one and dumped the old one in the bio hazard bin. Everything from blood to bile to pee.

Actually had to replace a keyboard that was covered, and I do mean covered, in chewing gum. It was everywhere. To make things worst, it was not just one keyboard either. As if someone was blowing bubblegum over the keyboards. What a mess.

The worst thing i saw was on my own laptop. I was warsriving with my laptop and had to hit the break urgently so the liquid airfreshener fell off an spilled on my laptop. It was a very small amount and i did not take it seriously.
At this moment i did not notice how bad the oily substance is. It went went through the keyboard and and landed on the motherboard. The chemical burned through (etched) the notherboard, blew up the condensers and deatroyed it.

Got cats? They leave hair EVERYWHERE! Shortly after I FINALLY discovered the wonders of canned air, I cleaned both my keyboard and computer fans. They were awful; looked like kittens had gotten caught in them.

Before our small biz work-from-home bookkeeper discovered the problem, she spent about 3 weeks calling Microsoft customer support, Quickbooks, Gateway (yeah, I know) before hauling it to the shop to find…nothing. Meanwhile, we had to buy another computer, same problems arose, so we blamed the cable people, the router, called an electrician to check out the wiring, and finally, FINALLY realized her 3-year-old had spilled her latte on the remote keyboard. Yeah.
And she was indignant because we thought 3-year-olds didn’t belong in the office, said it was just an accident, etc. No apology, nothing.

The worst was probably on a laptop that I swapped out when the lease was over. It had been used for over 3 years by a guy out on the shipping dock and was covered in grease, grime, and gray hair.

The funniest was when a girl in HR wanted a new keyboard because some of her keys weren’t working. When I swapped hers out, I noticed the problem. The keyboard was FILLED with about 3 pounds worth of pulled STAPLES!!!!
