FireHero is a Raspberry Pi Driven Pyrotechnic Christmas Spectacular [Video]

If you’re in the mood for a little Christmas Day rock spectacular with guitar riffs and jets of fire–and we certainly are–this video is not to be missed.

Chris Marion likes tinkering, Raspberry Pi, pyrotechnics, and awesome guitar rifts; FireHero v3 is the intersection of all these elements. In this video he rocks out to the August Burns Red rendition of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. Sit back and enjoy the show and, if you’re so inclined to build one of these beasts yourself, hit up the link below to see exactly how he went about the project.

Jason Fitzpatrick is a warranty-voiding DIYer who spends his days cracking opening cases and wrestling with code so you don't have to. If it can be modded, optimized, repurposed, or torn apart for fun he's interested (and probably already at the workbench taking it apart). You can follow him on if you'd like.

Really neat, but considering the owners of venues where bands play go nuts if you shoot off confetti canons, I can only begin to imagine the reaction to this litte addition to our light show!
