Hack a Nintendo Zapper into a Real Life Laser Blaster

Why settle for zapping ducks on the screen when you could be popping balloons and lighting matches on fire? This awesome (but rather dangerous) hack turns an old Nintendo zapper into a legitimate laser gun.

Courtesy of the tinkers over at North Street Labs, we’re treated to a Nintendo zapper overhaul that replaces the guts with a powerful 2W blue laser, a battery pack, and a keyed safety switch. Check out the video below to see the laser blaster in action:

Lame, so they didn’t turn the nintendo zapper into a laser ,
They built a laser and put it in the zapper,

Heck talk like that you could turn anything into a laser
maybe I’ll build a TV remote laser that is triggered by the off button and see if it works on stupid ppl

The next step in the tech revolution, where lasers can be had by anyone who wants them, hopefully leading to a eureka moment in some kids basement. Hopefully someone will throw a few hours into building an optical computer before my middle age body has slipped this feeble mortal coil. Speaking of feeble, the title made me come here thinking I could turn the optics on the original gun into a laser. And also, never give someone access to the comments section at 4 o clock in the morning… I could really go on, there is nothing stopping me. Really. Aren’t you glad you spent all that time reading to this very word? So, I had this idea for a movie…
