The reason you can’t freeze vodka in your freezer is that it just isn’t cold enough in there; water has a freezing point of 32F (0C), pure ethanol alcohol has a freezing point of -175F (-115C) and, even when diluted during the bottling process, there is still enough alcohol in your average bottle of 80 proof (40% alcohol) vodka to keep the freezing point at around -10F (-23C).
