The Dangers of Vertical Video; A Public Service Announcement [Video]

According to the puppets in this tongue-in-cheek PSA, you’d better start shooting your video in the right orientation or very bad things–potentially involving George Lucas–will come to pass.

Hilarious! But what’s up with John Goodman’s picture?

Maybe a good solution to prevent “VVS” would be to rotate all iPhone icons for all the “iDiots” who have no imagination or insight? I mean, isn’t it a requirement for a person to be a complete moron to even purchase an Apple device? After all, the only people I ever see with these things are absolute dim-wits to begin with.

Another danger: if we are to rotate the device, which way is “up”?
    (I’ve shot a few upside-down videos personally)

Darren, look at where your camera lens is placed on the device, it will never be directly center, it’s offset to the left or the right while holding the device vertical.

Whichever side the lens is closest to the edge of (left or right) is the top.
