The Power of Introverts – TED 2012 Talk by Susan Cain [Video]

Susan Cain gave a great talk at TED 2012 about her experiences with others (along with her own choices) regarding her introverted nature while growing up and into adulthood. This is a talk well worth watching for those of us who are introverted and those who seek to understand others who are introverted.

From YouTube: In a culture where being social and outgoing are prized above all else, it can be difficult, even shameful, to be an introvert. But, as Susan Cain argues in this passionate talk, introverts bring extraordinary talents and abilities to the world, and should be encouraged and celebrated.

I love reading comments by critics. It reminds me of people who post “this is the biggest waste of 99 cents ever!” in the App Store, when all they create is negative. Storytelling is a part of the “TED Talk” presenting style which is outlined in “The TED Commandments.” All TED Talks are not for everyone. I believe that instead of being negative, one should respect that being invited to a TED Talk is very difficult. Getting a standing ovation at one is incredible. Congrats Susan.

TED Commandments, ha, Give me a break. The fact that “All TED Talks are not for everyone…” means absolutely nothing and suggests nothing unique. You can say that about anything. Wouldn’t pay 99 cents to be there. Tediously Endless Doo-doo

YU22- Awesome TED Talk. Worth at least 99 cents. At least. Good luck with your bridge!
