For years scientists thought that the Tapetail fish, the Bignose fish, and the Whalefish were completely separate species, but studying the body structures of the three types and DNA testing revealed that the radically different looking and sized fish were the larval, male, and female members of the same species, now known as the Flabby Whalefish.
