DIY Glow Sticks Offer Homebrewed Illumination and Science Experiment Fun

By Jason Fitzpatrick on January 18th, 2012

Why limit your glow stick fun to Halloween? With this DIY science tutorial you can create glow sticks anytime (and any size).

Courtesy of the how-to science geek NurdRage, the above video walks you through the process of creating your own glow sticks. In small quantities you’re not going to save any money but you are going to have a lot of fun and learn all about the process–in larger quantities (like if you want to set up the most spectacular glow-in-the-dark mad scientist display ever) you’ll save a ton.

Once you’ve mastered mixing a small batch of glow stick magic you’ll be ready for a 2-liter glowing monster.
