The How-To Geek Forum has the ability to use hotkeys for keyboard navigation, similar to Gmail or Google reader hotkeys. This page explains them.
You can enable the hotkeys by clicking the "My Profile" link in the blue menubar:
Then you'll want to click on the Edit button to make changes to your profile:
Now you can find the option to enable or disable:
Make sure to click the Update button, and also make sure that all of your forum profile fields are filled out correctly.
Once you've enabled the hotkeys, you'll see a small caret next to items. You can use the j / k keys to move this caret up or down, and then use o to open.
Once you have read the thread, you can use r to reply, or u to return to the forum homepage. The rest of the shortcuts are detailed in the table below.
