Stop Using File Pickers – Just Drag and Drop Files to Upload Them

Every time I see somebody using an file picker to choose a file for upload, I shake my head. There’s a much simpler way to do it – just drag and drop it onto the upload form. This works really well on almost all social media sites, but it even works on old-school forms.
For Facebook and Twitter, just drag a picture straight into the new update box.

For an old-school form, drag the picture onto the “No File Chosen” text in the file picker. Your browser will automatically choose that file.

Once you’ve dropped it, you’ll see that the file name is now there.

You’ll have to click the Upload button, of course.
