Wise Disk Cleaner allows you to find and delete junk files from your hard drive to free up more space.  The Professional version includes two advanced utilities, Disk Scrubber which allows you to permanently delete files from the hard drive and Deleted file Recovery which recovers accidently deleted files on NTFS partitions.

Installation is intuitive following the Install wizard and takes less than a minute.  During the install process there is an option to sign up for their newsletter.

Everything is controlled through an easy to use main interface where you start scans and choose the files to permanently delete.

Also included is Deleted File Recovery for NTFS volumes.  After the scan browse through the results for the file to recover.  Right click and select a location to save the accidently deleted file.

The Disk Scrubber utility permanently deletes files from a hard drive.  It is best to use this on external hard drives or flash sticks.

There are several options you can tweak to get it to look and behave according to your needs.

Ease of Use – 7

They have made Disk Cleaner easy to use through the attractive interface, but also include a step by step wizard which comes in handy the first few times you use it.

After the scan is complete you can easily delete them completely or to a specified location.  The best option is to put them in a separate folder or Recycle Bin for a while to makes sure you will not need anything back if a programs starts acting unstable.

Performance – 7

Scan speeds were relatively quick but time will vary depending on the size of your hard drive and now many disks you want to scan.  It is also light on system resources when idle but uses up more during a full scan.

There are several ways to get support from their website which include FAQ, User Forum, and Email Support.

Conclusion

Overall Wise Disk Cleaner performs its tasks effectively but the amount of features is lackluster.  You definitely will want to be careful when choosing to delete the so called “junk files” as some programs may become unstable.  For the file recovery tool your dive needs to be formatted with NTFS and will work on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista.  They offer a free version which scans and removes junk files only and the Professional version  is $19.95.
