Overview

Glary Utilities offers multiple system tools to fix, maintain, and protect your PC.  It offers a registry cleaner, spyware detections, disc cleanup, memory optimizer, startup manager, and a few other modules to optimize the PC.  The free version has plenty of features including One-Click maintenance and the Pro version offers more enhancements like automatic updating and scheduled scans.

Walk Through Review

Installation – 8

Installing Glary Utilities is very straight forward following the install wizard.  One thing to point out during install is not accepting the Ask Toolbar install and also make sure to uncheck setting Ask as your default search engine.

Features – 7

Glary Utilities comes with an easy to use interface with one-click maintenance.  You can uncheck different options you don’t want to run.

You can also run individual utilities by going into the Modules tab and running the appropriate task.  Here is where you will find other utilities not included in 1-Click Maintenance.

It includes a file shredder for deleting your secret world domination files.  There is also an option to wipe out free space on internal and external hard drives.

An enhanced Process Manager that will give you more information on processes running and has a link to look up an unknown process directly on Google.

A pretty comprehensive Disk Analysis utility that breaks down the drive and show the percentage of space each type of file is taking up.

To help free up disk space there is a Duplicate File Finder.

You will need to run manual updates with the free version but the Pro version will provide automatic updates.

The Pro version also support scheduled scans where you can modify the schedule to meet your needs.

Ease of Use – 8

With One-Click maintenance you really cannot get any easier.  Just run a scan for issues and in a few minutes you will have the results.  Then click the Repair Problems button and your all set.

Before deleting a bunch of Registry entries it is always a good idea to review what is being deleted.  If you are not sure what different entries mean you’re still OK because Glary Utilities creates a back up before deleting anything.

You can also view the temporary files identified in the scan.

So, if your computer or other applications starts acting strange after a cleanup session you can go into the Restore Center and restore back to before the cleanup took place.

Here you can also go back to a previous restore point or easily create a new one.

Through Settings you can also modify Restore Center Protection options.

Performance – 7

The interface is lightweight and easy to use.  While running different scans there will be a spike in CPU usage but memory requirements are minimal.  With the Pro version you can schedule automatic cleanup and repair sessions and also automatic updates.

Product Support – 7

There are several options for support on the Glary Utilities website which include FAQ, support web form, and emailing support.  When I emailed support I received a response within 2 days.

Conclusion

Glary Utilities is essentially an all in one PC performance utility and monitor.  Now you can have some of the most important PC tools together in one suite without having to download multiple applications.  While most users will get by just fine with the free version, the Pro version gives you additional features that make this a very nice application.  The Professional version costs $39.99 and works on Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 although not officially supported.
