Hi!
I have a DELL Laptop, bought 6 years ago and still using it now. The problem is that, it is running veeeeeeery slow! What can I do about that? Reformat? Well, To make things worse, My dvd/cd player broke, so my comp. can't read any CDs! Therefore, I can't do anything that needs to run on CD, such as reformating the computer or installing programs (to install a new dvd/cd player, for an instance...)

If I dont wanna reformat my comp, I think I should try the "defragmentation". Unfortunately, I couldn't run it. The pop-up instruction said that the "defragmentation" program is not installed! This is strange, I've used defragmentation for a few times before. Ok, Maybe I accidentally deleted it, but how to install it back into my comp.? Pls bare in mind that my dvd/cd player's broke!

I think I need to install a new dvd/cd player... Is it possible to install without using to installation CD? And, If I manage to find the installation programe online, will it be deleteded when I reformat my comp.? Or worse, half way through the reformatting process?

Please help.

Thanks a lot!

I have NEVER been able to install SP2. Every time it was tried by different people, who were extremely computer savy, it crasned the hard drive. Even a letter to LANGA.com came back with a response that "some" may not take the sp2 download for whatever the reason for the glitch. Any opinions? thanks. H. Basco
