hi guys

I was also facing the same problem . i have also tried all the possible solutions available on the internet and this site as well, but nothing works for me.

finally i decided to do somesthing , and i discovered the solution.So if nothing works for you guys also , do the following steps

Just go the network adapter setting and clicks on ‘Configure’ button for the settings
and under ‘Link Speed’ tab go to ‘Speed and Duplex’ and select the ‘Auto Negotiation’

After apply above steps ,I hope slow file copy problem will be solved

Same here. I’m running SP1, tried disabling the auto tuning and its definitely worse. The robocopy and copying to a mapped drive workarounds don’t work either. Grinds to a halt and then fails.

Damn!!! I upgrade mi Vista to SP1, and the problem stills there!!! I disabled all features that I don´t need on Networks…. I do all that recommends on this page, and the problem stills there, I can´t copy large files from a machine running XP to my machine running vista….
But the strange thing is that if I command to copy the files from the xp machine, works flawlessly!!!

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

any chance you could help me out? This fix doesn’t solve my problem: copy my OS ghost image to another drive for recovery over ext hdd (Original file on DVD and is approx 5GB)

I’m sad to report that this doesn’t work at all for me

If anything I think its making it worse. Now if I try copying files from my vista box to my xp box it hangs almost instantly after it starts copying. Quite annoying. Hopefully microsoft will fix all this in SP1.
