kubi, i had exactly the same problem. Kubi, sem imel popolnoma isti problem.
i created an empty file /home/xxx/.config/.rainlendar2/rainlendar2.ini i ustvaril prazno datoteko / home/xxx/.config/.rainlendar2/rainlendar2.ini
after that the app started up normally po tem app zažene normalno

I recently switched from XP to Ubuntu and installed rainlendar on my machine. Pred kratkim sem preklopi iz XP na Ubuntu in Rainlendar umestiti naprej svoj stroj. It seems to be working ok, but I still have one question: Is there a way to convert my old “events.ini” file to one with the .ics extension so that my new rainlendar is able to see all the recurring events that I had scheduled in my old xp rainlendar? Zdi se, da dela ok, ampak sem še eno vprašanje: Ali obstaja način, kako spremeniti svoj stari "events.ini" datoteko z eno.
