I use Logmein (free) quite a bit to help friends, family and business associates because I can access their machines unattended. The free version permits commercial use but does not support file transfer.
So, I install Crossloop on each remote pc because it does support file xfer. If I need to xfer files I just run Crossloop on the remote pc and my pc to xfer the files. Quick, easy, legal and no cost.

It's been awhile since an update on here, figured I would list the great news. Firedog services are now officially going out of business. What this means, everyone that used circuit city firedog must now find new tech support.

This is where crossloop's market place will start to take off. I have watched the helper number grow from 10,000 to now over 15,000 in a very short period of time. That means crossloop is growing, and fast.

Just like I said a few months ago, the big name support companies are going under, one at a time. I can't wait to watch the overpriced geek squad fail as well.

I love crossloop, I am one of the top helpers and I have made just over $1,000. Its good to see crossloop reaching out to partner with such great websites such as this one. I would be interested in a customizable crossloop too, just like the one guy said above.

For those who dont know what crossloop is, or what the market place is about. You can learn more on my site at http://www.nicklockard.com

I have helped push crossloop to what it is today by helping a Wall Street Journalist Walter Mossberg with his PC. He loved it so much he published it. So everyone new to crossloop give it time, Geek Squad, Firedog, Plumchoice and other remote service companys days are numbered!!!

Hi. I've been using the client for 2 months and I've only received 1 request for help. How do you actually make money with this?

I also don't wish to advertise this on my website.
Thanks for any help =)

That's cool! How did you manage? Is it because you've got a popular blog and they just agreed it would be a way to get the word out? Did you have to bribe them with pizza & beer for the rest of their lives? Can it be hacked somehow? I'd love to see my own version of Crossloop. It might even impress my clients!

So... tell us... how did you manage to get a customized version?
