What a shame Outlook 2007 does not support authenticated feeds (without some ludicrous workarounds anyway): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917125

Out of the box Outlook 2007 support for authenticated RSS feeds would increase RSS adoption in my organisation a hundred fold.

Good information here, but on Wunderground when clicking the RSS link, it wants to download an XML file. What do I do with the XML file? I really need the RSS feed URL to add the feed to Outlook. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Quick question: I want to use outlook as an rss feed reader but for some reason it doesn't tell me when I receive a new post it I have the rss folder closed. For example you know you have an email no matter what area you are in outlook because the email sidebar folder would be bold and have a (1) or something, but this doesn't show for rss feeds. Why or how do I fix it? If anyone knows that would be great.

When I go to the feeds in firefox (for example: http://feeds.howtogeek.com/HowToGeek), I can see a "Subscribe to this feed using:" Box at the top of the page. I can then choose: "Microsoft Office Outlook". But after I click on "Subscribe Now", it always brings me to Outlook and load and show the page on the right pane in Outlook, just like showing a webpage, but not doing anything to add this to the subscribed RSS feeds in Outlook.
I can add the feeds into Outlook correctly if I do it the way as described in this article. I wonder if my problem is just a normal thing, or there's something wrong here?
Thanks a lot!

got it, nevermind. if you want to know, click properties on the folder, and use the archive feature...there you can select to delete after X number of days.
