This is an extremely dangerous thing to do. I suppose, if you're using an Alpha version of Firefox, then you're probably willing to live on the edge and put up with a little instability. However, I want to be clear: you should *not* do this if you aren't prepared for some very strange things to happen on occasion. The compatibility checker is there for a reason, and while simple extensions do not need the sort of over-protection it ensures, many of the more integrated extensions do have that requirement.

I repeat: do *not* do this unless you're ready to deal with the consequences.

@Willem - MR Tech Toolkit is a wonderful extension. ^__^ I have it installed in every Firefox browser I have on my computer (regular install and portables).

This method is great if Firefox's version numbers jump ahead of the add-ons being updated to the latest version numbers. ^__^

I use the MR Tech Toolkit add-on to to the same.
Mr Tech allows you to disable the compatibility check, and when you right-click an incompatible add-on you'll get the option "make compatible".
