Remove the New Tab Button in Firefox
Are you annoyed by the New Tab button in Firefox and are looking for a way to remove it? Now you can with the Remove New Tab Button extension.
Before
If you are a keyboard ninja and prefer to use “Ctrl + T” to open new tabs instead of the “New Tab Button” then you might feel irritated with having to look at that button every day. But what to do about it?
Here you can see the “New Tab Button” sitting on the “Tab Bar”…but not for long!

After
Once you have installed the extension and restarted Firefox there are no options for you to worry with. Just sit back and enjoy the view! As you can see, the “New Tab Button” is history.

Conclusion
The Remove New Tab Button extension makes a great addition to Firefox for those who prefer to use keyboard shortcuts to open new tabs or just do not like the New Tab Button cluttering up their UI.

Now hear this: I like the New Tab Button. That is all.
.tabs-newtab-button { display: none !important; }
add to your userChrome.css file; does the same w/o the bloat
Why would you remove it? I actually used the add-on for it before they added it as a feature. I use it all the time.
I want to remove it because its a useless piece of crap; its much less annoying AND more space efficient to just middle click on the home button.
