It is Friday once again and things are likely to be very boring around the office. Liven things up by taking command of a naval fleet and going into battle with Battleship – General Quarters.
Note: Depending on your office environment you may or may not want to disable the sound for this game. It comes with explosion and alarm sounds.
Battleship – General Quarters
The object of the game is to sink your enemy’s fleet before they sink yours. The intro screen will allow you to enter your name if desired, otherwise click on Enter.
The first thing that you will need to do is to deploy your fleet. Click on the ship you want to position on the board and move your mouse to the desired location.
Once you have the ship in the desired location you can turn the ship using the left and right arrow keys. When the ship is positioned the way that you want click on it again.
Continue until you have your whole fleet deployed. Once you are done your “second in command” will inform you that everything is ready to go.
When the game starts you will see two game boards. One will display your fleet and the other will be for choosing where to fire your shells. An orange cube will appear over the cell that you are considering as a target…left click to fire.
When you or your enemy hit empty water with a shell those squares will become grey in color. Misses will also display a small plume of water as the shells impact.
When a hit occurs on a ship, there will be a neat little explosion show up. Unfortunately our submarine just got sunk here…
But payback is always great. Notice that our sunken submarine is still on the board but is shaded over in orange. Each time that you score a successful hit there will be a cool little battle siren to go with it.
Getting so close to sinking the enemy fleet now!
Just one hit left to get the Minesweeper and win the battle! Now where to shoot the final shell?
The end screen will display your final score, the button to play again, and fun little messages in the small viewer window.
